Singapore's Construction Market Update

07 October 2021

National Day (14)

2021 has been a challenging and interesting year for the built industry, from facing a talent crunch to contractors scrambling to implement covid measures on ever-changing regulations. Despite these hurdles, the industry remains upbeat with new projects awarded and a fresh pipeline of what’s to come. Firstly, the long-awaited six new stations (Springleaf, Lentor, Mayflower, Bright Hill, Upper Thomson and Caldecott) for Thomson East-Coast Line began operations in August 2021.

The remaining 23 TEL stations are still in the construction and targeted to be launched by 2030. At the same time, more Contractors are keeping their eyes and ears peeled for upcoming awards of the Cross Island Line (CRL).

Below is a list of newly awarded CRL packages:

  • Underground tunnel between Aviation Park & Loyang Station

  • Design & Build Hougang Interchange station and tunnels

  • Design & Build Pasir Ris interchange station and tunnels

  • Changi East Depot

  • Ang Mo Kio station and tunnels

Additionally, another package of Deep Tunnel Sewerage System 2 (DTSS2) has just been awarded, along with the construction of the new state-of-the-art Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF), which is due to complete in 2024.

If you are keen to explore career opportunities and would like to find out more about the exciting projects, please send your CV to Samantha and Serena.
