My client is a global Data Center owner that operates across the Asia Pacific Region. They are looking for a Engineering Manager to join their team in the APAC region. In this role, you will be responsible on providing technical inputs and working closely with other business functions to support deliver the project objectives.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with multiple teams across the region in various functions, such as sales, design, construction, critical operations, and asset management, to deliver data center capacity to customers.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, both internal colleagues and external vendors or partners, about the developed solution to ensure feasibility.
  • Take charge of preparing and submitting high-quality solution proposals based on RFP documents received from customers while ensuring compliance with technical requirements and specifications.
  • Analyze customer technical requirements and compare them with market trends to provide optimized solutions.
  • Establish internal project briefs, project procurement and contracting strategies, long-lead equipment procurement buy-outs, analyze project risks, and develop project timelines based on the agreed-upon solution with the customer. Prepare and submit reports to Management and Group for approval.
  • Manage and organize design review meetings between customers and internal stakeholders to finalize the design solution for implementation.
  • Manage internal stakeholders to identify and establish the overall project delivery schedule for project implementation to meet the customer's timeline.
  • Manage and implement the agreed-upon solution by the customer from contract execution, design, construction, commissioning, and turnover to critical operations and assets management teams.
  • Monitor and report project status to Management on the various stages of project implementation and highlight project risks or delays.
  • Address solution challenges that arise during project implementation and work with internal stakeholders to resolve them promptly.
  • Provide constructive feedback to internal teams as and when necessary for improvement.
  • Manage assigned accounts and provide backup coverage for the team.
  • Act as a single point of contact for customers on executive escalations or issues independently.
  • Perform other duties associated with the role, as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is required. 
  • A minimum of 8 years of work experience, preferably in a design consultancy firm, and experience working through the entire construction project lifecycle from design to building permit acquisition is preferred.
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills; Mandarin proficiency preferred. (clients and stakeholders are Mandarin Speaking)
  • Experience or good knowledge in data center design and power & cooling systems, as well as testing and commissioning activities such as FAT, SAT, IST.
  • Ability to work closely with senior management and to manage within a matrix organization.
  • Exceptional presentation skills and strong public speaking abilities.
  • A resourceful team player with a genuine passion for providing outstanding support to both internal and external customers.
  • Experience with fast-paced, large volume, dynamic, complex, and international operations.
  • The ability to produce comprehensive and concise management reports.
  • Possess drive, tenacity, and a willingness to learn.
  • Willing to visit the field to verify the progress and engage with staff.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and oral formats. Proficiency in reading and writing Chinese is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and skilled in AutoCAD or REVIT 3D.
  • Ability to travel for short business trips within Southeast Asian countries.
  • Familiar with Singapore or the surrounding region's fire and building codes, as well as relevant international standards used in the data center industry.
