My client is a well regarded European MNC with a strong track record in large infrastructure projects globally. They have a prominent presence in APAC and have been recently appointed to design, build and operate a massive industrial project in Hong Kong. They are now seeking an O&M Engineer to be a part a project that is the first of its kind.

The Job

  • Responsible for general oversight and support of all operations activities and the overall operation/efficiency. Support in preparation of all customer, regulator and corporate reporting requirements for the project in a timely manner.
  • Directly supervises the licensed operators assigned to the Project.
  • Manages internal relationships.
  • Develops objectives and reports to meet regulatory requirements.  Accountable for the productivity and efficiency of system operations and achieving state, federal and local environmental regulatory requirements in full compliance with applicable law, contract requirements and company policies.
  • Organizes operations and supports activities to maximize efficient use of available staff, equipment and materials. Coordinate maintenance activities with operational activities. 
  • Strives to create greater program efficiencies, morale and productivity via continuous quality improvement and strategic planning in full compliance with the project’s approved Budget.
  • Support development and management of the annual O&M budget for the Project.
  • Analyzes and evaluates operations and support functions, initiates new or improved practices as necessary.
  • Responsible for ongoing review and ensuring full compliance with all environmental, health and safety measures and practices that are established and carried out in all operations and maintenance activities. 
  • Interacts with subordinates, supervisors and customers as needed to facilitate smooth system operations. Provide project updates as requested.
  • Must have experience with seawater desalination treatment, operations and maintenance to the equivalent level of a Class A Operator. For 5 years minimum
  • Complete understanding of water desalination treatment operation
  • A degree in sanitary, chemical, civil, electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited University.
