Our client is the future of pipe condition assessment and leak detection technology. They are currently experiencing rapid growth with wide spread adoption of their patented technology and they are on a mission to close the buried infrastructure information gap, to enable proactive, asset management for their clients.

They are currently looking for a Principal Engineer to join their team in Mississauga.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain innovative solutions for pipeline inspection and monitoring
  • Develop and implement new features for the company's condition assessment and leak detection technologies based on cutting edge physical research and signal processing techniques
  • Develop research hypothesis and design experimental investigations
  • Develop analytical and theoretical models of pipe acoustics
  • Model transient response of pipes and pipe networks
  • Keep up to date on science and technology of leak detection and condition assessment 
  • Keep up to date on developments acoustical science and NDT
  • Maintain technical documentation of all research activities to support IP strategy, as well as Experience with SR&ED and IRAP reporting requirements
  • Provide technical write-ups and descriptions to support research funding applications
  • Conduct and lead meetings with our customers, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Supervises technical staff 
Education & Skill Requirements:
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics 
  • 10+ years experience
  • Proven work experience will be considered in lieu of doctorate  
  • Background in acoustic measurement and signal processing an asset
  • Background in leak detection or pipe condition assessment an asset
  • Experience working with large sensor arrays an asset
  • Experience with Python, Julia, Java or JavaS
  • Algorithm modeling using programs such as MathCAD/MATLAB/Octave
  • CFD and FEA using programs such as COMSOL/SimScale/Ansys
  • Experience with SR&ED and IRAP projects a strong asset
  • Professional Engineering license is an asset. 
  • Excellent written and spoken English, fluency in French, Japanese, German, Portuguese and or Spanish, an asset. 
Working Conditions:
  • Office environment and or remotely
  • R&D laboratory
  • Travel to job sites in Canada, Europe, and USA for up to several days
