My client, a large MNC Civil Contractor who are specialists in the construction of deep tunnels are currently seeking a Project Manager with relevant experience to be part of a complex tunnel project in Singapore.
• Overseeing all construction activities on site, especially the construction of large diameter deep shafts and NATM tunnels, involving a wide range of ERSS construction methods, challenging ground conditions in a densely populated urban environment
• Orchestrating multi-national construction teams and subcontractors daily to confirm all safety, quality and programme requirements are met
• Preparation of work and maintaining responsibility for work scope, safety, budget, schedule and quality
• Ensuring all work is pre-planned in detail through work procedures and method statements including risk analysis
• Implementing the Management and Monitoring Plans to meet statutory requirements, standards and HSE requirements
• Reviewing of final design submission of earth retaining structures for deep shaft excavations and permanent manhole structures
• Assisting in directing the procurement of temporary and permanent materials in a timely manner
• Assisting in the preparation of cost and schedule forecasts and control costs in relation to approved budgets
• Ensuring the timely and complete preparation of all contemporary construction records and all necessary documents related to the construction process such as quantity recording, construction diary, HSE records, etc.
• Understands the scope of the works and can identify change
• Ensuring and overseeing the professional development and progression of work force and ensure that all necessary training and briefings are identified and provided for the team
• Assisting in assessment of construction risks, development and implementation of mitigation measures including and ensuring that suitable mitigation plans are in place and monitored

Qualifications and Skills:
• Must possess wide knowledge, proven expertise and practical experience in methods and materials regarding soil support, deep shaft and foundation construction
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mining Engineering
• minimum 15 years’ post degree experience in managing complex and large construction projects, involving the management of multi-national construction teams
• Expert knowledge of products, construction details and relevant international technical standards, environmental regulations and quality standards in relation to civil, deep excavation and underground construction
• Independent individual with strong leadership, communication and conflict management skills
• Excellent management and organizational skills
• Fluent in English
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in using common MS software applications
