Senior Project Manager

The position of Senior Project Manager is a full-time position within the Strategy in Life Sciences division. The individual selected for this role will serve in a government department, specifically within the Project Management team. 

The management of a complete pre-and-post project service in all aspects of construction work, development, new build, conversion, alterations and improvement works to ensure the estate is properly managed to ensure compliance with the University’s core values.

We are seeking a highly motivated, organised and capable individual to deliver effective and professional construction project management for one of London’s most prestigious Universities. 
 
The post holder will take ownership and independently manage a wide range of construction projects from inception through to post-completion to ensure the University’s property portfolio is effectively maintained, improved and developed by agreed standards, policies and procedures; maintenance plans; and the capital investment programme.
 
Your expected responsibilities include:
  • Contributing to the advancement of the Estate Strategy.
  • Adhering to established and recognised processes and procedures by the client’s policies.
  • Taking responsibility for evaluating, reviewing, and enhancing process improvement strategies.
  • Ensuring process adherence and optimising efficiency.
  • Keeping process documentation up to date.
  • Overseeing Commission Execution Plans and ensuring they are appropriately maintained throughout the commission.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for clients and teams.
  • Assisting in the development and management of the team while exhibiting exemplary role model behaviour.
  • Supporting the alignment of the team’s Information Management with the client’s Information Management environment.
Your qualifications and attributes that you’ll bring to the role are as follows:

  • Experience in managing specialist engineering services within building projects
  • Extensive experience in undertaking Project Management roles in construction management
  • Experience in direct management and control of a wide range of multidisciplinary teams of construction professionals and contractors
  • Working knowledge of current health & safety and construction legislation and technical standards within the construction industry
  • Experience working on technically complex projects such as medical and scientific research facilities
  • Experience in budget management and control
  • Developed interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and willing to work independently/take the initiative
  • Strong presentation skills

  • Project management and delivery within an Estate context, including educational and healthcare setting

On offer for this Senior Project Manager role is a rate of £350 – £450 per day
