This opportunity is to provide Planning assistance and support to Project Managers and Project Teams across various Construction Projects and to work within the Planning team on bids and preconstruction programmes as required.
 
The role will predominately be office based in our London Office but will require frequent site visits to establish the progress position of projects being worked on.
 
Responsibilities will include:
  • Prepare fully logic linked (and where required resource loaded) programmes for both preconstruction and construction activities including design and procurement.
  • Maintain the baseline for the programmes and carry out all necessary updates as and when required.
  • Assess programmes from 3rd parties and provide advice to the Project Manager relating to the impacts of the programme.
  • Visit site and accurately assess site progress and input this into the project programme.
  • Provide progress reports/dashboards as required to the project managers of the projects to which you are assigned.
  • Provide progress reports / information to Clients or Clients representatives as required on a particular project.
  • Incorporating changes to the programme following changes to the design approach.
  • Incorporating key decision and information requirements and tracking the sign off of these.
  • Incorporating compensation events and assessing the impact on the programme of these.
  • Management of cost information within programme.
  • Reporting monthly both technical changes and progress as well as providing a high-level summary of the programme position.
  • Development of stage 4 programme, including working with the design team to understand design duration and resource levels.
  • Must be able to produce a fully logic linked programme for a project with a clearly identified critical path from a specification and drawings.
  • Be confident in taking a brief from a client/ PM and then producing the required outputs.
  • Should be confident and able to facilitate Workshop if required. 
  • Must be capable of producing Strategic and Detailed Programmes covering all project stages.
  • Be able to “think out of the box” and be a good problem solver.
  • Have a good understanding of modern Construction methods.
  • Have the knowledge and understanding to be able to provide Procurement Options Evaluation.
  • Must have a good understanding of Health and Safety Construction issues, identifications and solutions.
 
 
Personal Specification
To achieve success in the role, successful candidates must meet the following pre-requisites:

  • Decision making in relation to Planning tasks.

  • Appropriate appearance and dress sense to suit role and client organisation you are working with.
  • HNC or above + 8 years construction related experience.
  • Computer literate and fully conversant with modern planning software.
  • Hands-on experience with resource loading & earned value management systems.
  • Experience with Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Asta Powerproject Industry awareness of current trends and issues.
  • Understand Design, Development and Town Planning Processes.
  • Understand Construction Processes.
  • Understand Procurement options.
  • Technology awareness including Plant and equipment.
  • Modern methods of construction.
 
Remuneration
Basic: £50,000-£100,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + Discretionary Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits Package. Full package details will be disclosed to those candidates invited to interview stage.
